SightScape Scanner — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the SightScape Scanner application (the “App”) handles information. The App is a staff-only tool used by venue and event personnel to check guests in by scanning ticket QR codes. It is not intended for the general public, and staff accounts are created by SightScape administrators — there is no self sign-up.

This policy covers the App only. The SightScape customer website and booking services are governed by the main SightScape Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Account and sign-in data: your staff account is created for you by a SightScape administrator. To sign in, the App submits your identifier and password to SightScape and stores the resulting session token securely on your device so you stay signed in.
Camera: the App uses your device camera solely to read ticket QR codes at entry. Frames are processed on the device to read the code; the App does not store or transmit photos and does not access your photo library.
Check-in records: when you scan a ticket, the App sends the ticket code to SightScape to validate it and record the check-in. Each check-in is associated with the ticket, its listing/event, the time of the scan, and your staff account.
Technical and diagnostic data: basic session and app information (such as the authentication token, app version, and error information) used to keep the App secure and to help support you.

What We Do Not Collect

Your location — the App neither requests nor uses device location.
Contacts, files, your photo library, or the microphone.
Advertising identifiers. The App contains no advertising or third-party tracking SDKs.

How We Use Information

To authenticate you as authorized venue staff.
To validate tickets and prevent invalid or duplicate entry.
To record attendance on behalf of the vendor or event organizer.
To keep the App secure and to provide support.

Permissions

The App requests a single device permission — Camera — used only to scan ticket QR codes. You may revoke it in your device settings, but scanning will not work without it.

How We Share Information

With the vendor or event organizer whose event you are scanning, so they can see attendance for their own listings.
With service providers who host and operate the platform on our behalf, under confidentiality obligations.
When required by applicable law or to protect the platform.
We do not sell personal information.

Data Retention & Security

We retain check-in and account data for as long as needed to operate the service and to meet legal and accounting obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized. Information is protected with encryption in transit, access controls, and secure on-device storage of the session token.

Children's Privacy

The App is a workplace tool for authorized staff and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Rights

Subject to the Personal Data Protection Law of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (PDPL) and other applicable laws, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data.
